How to improve your site listings in Google

Getting Started Check if your site is in the Google database.
If your site is new or you are still building the site, add your site as soon as possible. It can take up to a month to see your site turn up in Google. This is a rough estimate, as the time period is steadily diminishing. You will turn up much quicker if you are linked to a site which is frequently ‘spidered’ by Googlebots; little robot-scripts that index the internet page-by-page. These robots, which search engines send out, are variously called ‘spiders’, ‘bots’, ‘crawlers’, etc. Google spiders in particular are called Googlebots. There are different types of bots. A freshbot, for example, visits you on a regular basis if you make frequent updates. The advantage of being visited by freshbots is that your updates can appear in Google on a daily basis: something of a positive version of catch-22. The more content you add, the more often you are visited. This leads to the importance of adding content. This is discussed in

More than just websites...

In this post I'll concentrate on advertising, here are a few examples of adverts designed for some of my clients ranging from press to magazine style adverts. Advertising in directories and publications often require you to be listed in amongst your toughest competitors, with a very high risk of being overlooked. BPBs  service specifically addresses this problem, designing effective eye catching adverts. Advertising isn't right for everyone, but for some companies it's an important part of their marketing plans. If advertising is part of your marketing mix then media planning is required. As this can often be a complex issue we will be only too pleased to offer guidance and advice based on our many years’ experience in dealing with local and national media, press, TV and radio. Both the Jenkinson Glaziers and Robinson Optometrists adverts were produced as full page adverts for local newspapers, the EastCoast Taxis advert was a half page advert in a A4 beer festiv

Amongst many new projects I was really pleased to be asked to get involved in the Tynemouth World War One Commemoration Project , history and especially the history of conflict being a lifelong interest of mine.  The community heritage project is based on the wartime experiences of a North East UK riverside community, Tynemouth.  The website is now live with stories of bravery and unbelievable conditions, follow the Blog as we approach the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One or sign up for the series of lectures. Running alongside the above project we've been hard at work marketing and promoting Stanley Music Festival , designing a website, poster and advertising. Looks like it will be the 'Sound of the Summer' with headliners Dodgy! We've also developed websites for West End Operatic Society and a Heritage Lottery funded project for Newstead and Annesley Villages with lots of other new projects nearing completion!

New Year Update

Well it was certainly a busy end to 2012 and I've had a whole host of sites go live to start 2013.   Salisbury Brewery : A new website for a small brewery situated in the Wylye Valley. The ales come highly recommended!   In the Silver room : Created for a North East based artist, jewellery designer, maker and teacher working from her studio in The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle upon Tyne. Northumbria School of English : A single holding page while the website is being developed, however the client didn't want it to look like the site was under construction, so with some clever JQuery a full screen 'movie' was created. I've also been busy updating a few property websites for 2013, including Carr's Barn in Norfolk and Flamingo Suites in Tenerife. Lots of new and exciting projects for 2013 as well, including the launch of Roaring Silence around the springtime and a new collaborative venture with other creative professionals in the Nor
